‘Tis the season to buy all kinds of food and gifts for your friends and family. Right? However, you could gift one of the bests gifts ever by helping someone else who would otherwise have a gloomy holiday. We all know the prices of… everything… has gone up!
Did you know 111,592 children were homeless in the US in January 2018? These were children with adults and children with no adult to care for them. The 2020 Annual Homeless Assessment Report (AHAR) to Congress states that there are 3,389 children, under the age of 18, with no adults, who are homeless. A sad situation indeed. See the report here… https://www.huduser.gov/portal/sites/default/files/pdf/2020-AHAR-Part-1.pdf
We are quickly coming up on Thanksgiving and Christmas. Won’t you reach out and find a way to help a homeless child?
There are many organizations you can become involved in. A few LOCAL to #Raleigh organizations helping people to receive food and/or gifts are:
The Successful Business Women https://www.thesuccessfulbusinesswomen.com/
Military Missions in Action (MMIA) https://www.militarymissionsinaction.org/
The US Veterans Corp http://myusvc.com/index.html
MBolden Ministries https://mboldenministries.com/
Hope Community Church https://gethope.net/
There are many more local organizations, as well as nationally known ones. Personally, I prefer to help with the smaller local events. No matter how you decide to help, do your research and find a group that touches your heart.
Help a homeless child in the US this year (and next – just sayin’).
