Things we wish we knew when we were younger… Have you ever pondered that statement? Are there things you wish you had done differently? Would you go back and change some things, if you could?

As I thought about it a few things came to my mind. Perhaps…
Ignore negative peer pressure
Listen more / talk less
Elders speak from experience, heed their advice
Do it the first time you are asked
Eat right and exercise
Be a positive influence on others
Words hurt as much (if not worse) than a slap
It’s not about religion, it’s about a relationship
and the list could go on …
I’m sure you have some different items to add to the list. I think many of us wish we had done some things differently. I mean, everyone makes mistakes, right?
If you had the opportunity to change some things in your past, would you do the Back to the Future trick? Maybe some of us would? If so, what impact would that change have on the person you have become?
Of course, we can’t actually go back and change things. The past is the past and it will not be changed. However, it may be possible that you can still become the person you think you would be if your past had been different. Take positive steps into the future, making the adjustments necessary to have the outcome you desire.
I must say, I know there are some things I could have done differently and I made some pretty poor choices in my late teens, early twenties. BUT, I also tell people that I would not go back and change a thing. The things that I have been through have formed me into the person I am today, and I happen to like who I am. I didn’t always, and that is why I took steps to change my life into a more positive life of purpose.
