Endless Hope, Relentless Joy

As we come upon Christmas Eve, and the upcoming new year, I wonder how people are feeling.

How are you feeling?

I have heard people talking and their feelings are running the gamut this week. People are happy, sad, excited, stressed, and even a few are peaceful. Do you recognize yourself in one of these feelings?

I am blessed and, for the most part, fall into the “peaceful” category. I’ve had people ask me, how to you stay so clam? I recently had someone tell me my faith shines around me. I thought I would take a couple of minutes to share how I have come to enjoy endless hope and relentless joy.

When our son was deployed, to Afghanistan in 2011, I had to come face to face with the fact that I could not control any of the situations he would find himself in. It was at this point that I gave control of my life, and our son’s over to God.

You see, God is the only one who could know what was going to happen, when, and how, with my son’s unit. He is the only one who stands in yesterday, today, and tomorrow all at once. He is indeed an awesome God. Stick with me here…

You see, once I let go and let God, I felt a physical lifting of the burden I was carrying. It was so freeing. If you believe in God and eternity in heaven, you have endless hope. You must… to look forward to eternity in heaven. If you have let God free you of your burdens you have endless joy. You must… if you have experienced the freedom that Jesus has offered to all believers.

Does having Faith, Hope, and Joy mean we are happy all the time, that life is a cake walk? Definitely not. What it does mean is that we believe in the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We trust that God is working all things for His Glory. We know that in the good times, and the bad, Jesus walks with us, through it all. If you have all those feelings, you must have endless hope and relentless joy. If you don’t feel this way and would like to learn more, Jim and I would be happy to share our stories with you.

We wish you the merriest of Christmases, this year.

I am including a link to one of my favorite Christian bands, singing their song “Baby Boy.” Check it out.
